It's pretty simple here. Every year children come to school with less and less, and teachers are providing more and more out of their own pockets. Unfortunately that's not something that many of us can afford to do. So, asking for help with supplies has become a yearly need. Being a Science class, we go through a ton of materials weekly, and many of the materials are consumable, and need replacing often.
This year to get started, bulk pencils, scissors, and tape are at the top of the list to replace last years' supply.
Getting these supplies n bulk now, ensures that I will have them for the majority of the school year. In addition to those basics some other things are added in to the list such as bandaids. I've discovered it saves a TON of time to have a stock in the room rather than sending kids down the hall.
Finally one other ask is a BIG ONE (well rather two) - STEP STOOLS! My Smart board when installed must have been installed for a rather tall person; and I am umm.. not. I can't reach it! When I was being told I was moving classrooms last year I was so excited until I realized I couldn't reach the top 2/3s of the board unless I was standing on a chair! So, the solution - Step stools! I figured two would be good to place at both ends of the the board so I can reach from either side to be able to make sure I can utilize all the board functions.
