They are already enthusiastically using the new basketballs, footballs, and soccer balls to organize games and stay active. The introduction of fun recreational group games like yard pong and hopscotch, along with the vibrant colored sidewalk chalk, has truly transformed our play areas.\r\n\r\nRecess is more than just a break from class—it's a crucial time for our students to develop social skills, practice teamwork, and engage in physical activity. With this fantastic new gear, every student now has the opportunity to find an activity they enjoy, leading to more inclusive, energetic, and positive recess periods. We've seen an immediate boost in excitement and cooperation, and fewer students are standing on the sidelines.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in the health, happiness, and holistic development of our students. Your support for our needs—from basic supplies to organizational tools—has already made a significant impact on our students' learning environment.\r\n\r\nAs a science teacher for two different grade levels, I quickly realized how fast essentials like paper towels disappear during hands-on lab activities! Your contribution of paper towels (and new holders!) has allowed our young scientists to quickly and safely manage spills without disrupting their investigations. This is a crucial step toward fostering good laboratory habits and maintaining a clean, productive space for everyone.\r\n\r\nThe new supply trays and vinyl for labeling have also been incredibly useful. Before, we spent valuable time searching for misplaced tools and cleaning up disorganized materials. Now, the trays are used to keep all the necessary equipment in one place on each desk, minimizing messes and maximizing learning. The vinyl has been used to label our supply bins in a much more permanent and visible way, making it easier for students to find and return materials. A more organized lab means less time wasted and more time spent exploring and experimenting.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, your donations helped replace worn-out supply bins for markers and crayons, as well as providing much-needed printer ink. These items, though small, keep our classroom running smoothly and enable us to continue with engaging, hands-on lessons. The excitement my students showed when the new supplies arrived was wonderful to see. It's a powerful reminder to them that there are people who care about their education and want to see them succeed.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making these improvements possible. Your support has created a safer, cleaner, and more organized space for science, and you have directly contributed to my students' success.","fullyFundedDate":1750774701910,"projectUrl":"project/science-success-needs-supplies/9209572/","projectTitle":"Science Success Needs Supplies!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. DiChiara","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp233972_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1534709672058","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsdichiara"},{"teacherId":233972,"projectId":9516076,"letterContent":"Your incredible support for our \"Clean and Comfy Science Lab\" project has already made a huge impact on our middle school students, and we can't thank you enough. The materials have arrived, and we are so excited to see the positive difference they are making every day in our science lab.\r\n\r\nThe impact of your donations:\r\nA quieter, calmer classroom: The new chair leg floor protectors have been a game-changer. Our classroom is now significantly quieter, which helps our students focus more intently on experiments and scientific discussions without the constant distraction of scraping chairs.\r\n\r\nVibrant, colorful learning: Thanks to the new color ink cartridges, we can now print high-quality, colorful diagrams, lab sheets, and handouts. This has brought complex scientific concepts to life for our visual learners and made our classroom materials far more engaging.\r\n\r\nReady for note-taking: The pre-sharpened Ticonderoga pencils have ensured that no one misses a moment of a lesson. With a constant supply of sharp pencils, our students are always ready to take notes, record data, and sketch observations during our investigations.\r\n\r\nA healthier, cleaner lab: The facial tissues and baby wipes are essential for maintaining a hygienic space. They help us quickly clean up spills and keep our workspace neat, especially during cold and flu season. Our students are also learning the value of shared responsibility in maintaining our classroom.\r\n\r\nEfficient clean-ups: The replacement vacuum filters have our lab vacuum working like new, making it easy to tidy up after messy, hands-on activities. This means more time for science and less time worrying about the mess.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our science lab is a more productive, hygienic, and organized place to learn. Your generous contribution goes far beyond the materials themselves; it sends a powerful message to our students that their education and their learning environment are valued by people who believe in them.\r\n\r\nThank you for inspiring curiosity, responsibility, and a love of science in every student who walks through our door. We are so grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1755706682711,"projectUrl":"project/comfort-cleanliness-and-creativity-cl/9516076/","projectTitle":"Comfort, Cleanliness, and Creativity: Classroom Basics Needed","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. DiChiara","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp233972_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1534709672058","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsdichiara"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_102055","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":293,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":83,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":77,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":65.5,"schoolId":102055,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Community Voices Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Community Voices Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/community-voices-middle-school/102055"}
