This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a second-year teacher for the 2020-2021 school year in first grade. Last year I was in second grade so I am excited to be moving to first grade with the chance to loop with my students the following year.
I am so excited to provide a class of new individuals with an amazing experience!
My students' backgrounds vary on each child. Everyone is going to be bringing something else to our classroom-based on their cultures and experiences. We have some students that come with special needs, come from high poverty and homelessness. My number one goal this school year is to make sure everyone has everything they need to have a successful first-grade year.
My Project
This project contains a lot of materials that will help at the beginning of the school year. There are markers and crayons for students that do not bring them in with them. There are a few supplies that I would like to have in the classroom that did not make the school supply list like, plastic folders and tape and black felt tip pens!
I also added some fidget toys to keep in the classroom in our feelings corner.
The students that come into my classroom may not have the funds at home to bring the proper supplies into the classroom at the start of the year.
