Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are enthusiastic learners who come from a diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. Demographically our students are 58% Hispanic or latino with 38% socioeconomically disadvantaged. We are a modern rural one-school district surrounded by agricultural land filled with lemon trees. Our families work on these farms and live in the surrounding areas.
We provide rigorous academics, intensive support, and cultural experiences in the visual and performing arts for all.
We teach students to create, connect, and collaborate for life.
My Project
Our students would like to start a Yearbook Club to add to their lists of extracurricular activities! They need cameras, cases, and memory cards to launch their club into a full-force yearbook team.
Students will use their cameras to capture moments at various school events such as, sports games, Mesa Carnival, Field Trips, Jog-A-Thon, etc.
Having digital cameras vs cell phones, students will be able to take high quality photos to ensure every picture in the yearbook is clearly displaying their memories. We have selected 3 small digital cameras with 8x zoom and a panoramic feature and 1 larger digital camera with 28x zoom. These cameras will allow several students the ability to capture all events whether they are near or far or several on the same day!
Please help our students start up a yearbook club where they can learn about photography and explore their creative sides personalizing their schools yearbook!
