Help me give my students new high interest chapter books featuring diverse characters and funny stories to build their reading skills and their love of reading!

My Project

The students at my school love to read! My school's kindergarten, first, and second grade students are some of the media center's most frequent visitors. They love to read and check out books! Chapter books play an important role in helping new readers make the transition from reading picture books to reading novels, so it is important to have a selection of diverse, high-interest chapter books to capture the attention of every reader.

This project will provide our readers with a variety of new chapter books that will allow our primary grade readers to practice and build their decoding, reading fluency and comprehension skills while they grow their love of reading.

Many of these books feature characters that look like our student population. Others are humorous and others feature ever popular super heroes, so there's something to appeal to everyone in this project.

I know that adding these books to our school's collection will have students lining up at the media center circulation desk so they can take them out to read! Thank you for helping us to grow our community of readers!
