My students need basic art supplies to start the school year. Through the use of watercolors, paint, and other art mediums students will explore art techniques.
One of my favorite Walt Disney quotes is, "The way to get started is to quit talking and start doing." I couldn't agree more with these simple words. I would like to start my school year with providing ample opportunities for students to explore different art mediums to open their inner artist.
I am extremely lucky to work with creative and curious students who have vivid imaginations and a thirst for art of all kind.
School district budget cuts have made it very difficult to use our dwindling supply budgets on anything but copy paper and pencils. We are located within a very small school district, and we are very proud of our multicultural environment.
My Project
My passion for art stems from my love for all things "Disney." I try to provide that color and imagination into my teaching and classroom everyday. My students come alive when we are dancing, singing, and creating. I just need the supplies to be able to provide these very important learning opportunities to my students. These supplies are needed for my students to have a creative outlet in order to master all California Visual and Performing Arts content standards. My students do not have the supplies needed to create art projects in class. I am asking for basic art supplies so that I can provide as many hands-on experiences as possible with a variety of art mediums.
I would be very grateful to receive donations to help boost my art program within my classroom.
The techniques that my students will learn can then be used at home to practice or teach others. I believe we must educate the whole student not with just academics, but also with creativity, innovation, and imagination.
