My Students

Many of my reluctant writers were enthusiastic about completing their writing assignment if they could type on the iPad. They typed, completed their writing, and then met defeat when it came to publishing.

Picture one hundred fifty students that are required to write on a daily basis and publish frequently.

These students have access to iPads to help produce a final copy. Problem-they love to use iPads for writing, but they can't easily access their hard work and allow others to enjoy their final product. It takes a special e-printer to accomplish this. Our school's printers are older models that are not equipped to preform this simple task. We have a large group of students whose enthusiasm turns to disappointment when it comes to publishing.

My Project

We adopted the Language Arts Common Core which requires extensive writing by our fifth graders. By sharing the iPads our fifth graders have a tool to help them develop an attractive, readable, and creative written project. How useless if these creative writing projects can't be shared because they can't be printed. Please help my students enjoy writing, sharing, and displaying their work by allowing them access to a printer that has e-print capabilities. The HP printer 100 has the needed e-print capabilities.

Success breeds more excitement about writing. Help them discover that they have a lot of ability and others enjoy reading and viewing their finished products. Our young writers are just blossoming. We need a printer to add the fertilizer of motivation.
