Help me give my students items we can use in the classroom to keep us all safe and healthy, such as these desk sheilds, as we transition from virtual to in-person learning.
My students come from an economically disadvantaged neighborhood. Additionally, it is an ESL class, therefore the class is very diverse. My students are African American, Arabic, Hispanic, Asian, etc. We are a title-1 school, over 75% of students qualify for a free lunch, due to their economic disadvantage. These kids deserve the same materials as their counterparts in neighborhoods where funding is rarely an issue. We have not been in school for over 6 months, due to Covid-19. I look forward to seeing my students in class, and I know they are ready to come back to school. However, I want to make sure we are staying safe. Please help me to help these sweet kids!
My Project
Students need to worry about learning the concepts, and the teacher needs to worry about teaching those concepts. We should not be worried about COVID-19. I believe my project will help us with that.
These items, such as the desk partitions, will contribute to our learning environment by keeping us safe from each other's germs, while allowing students to see each other and the teacher.
We want to share our ideas and learning, not our germs! Personal tissue packs will ensure students are keeping their noses clean, and having their own will keep them from having to touch the same tissue box. I look forward to teaching in the classroom, but also want to take every measure I can to keep us all safe!
