This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the honor of being the teacher to 36 of the most amazing and inquisitive preschoolers. Ours is a high poverty area of Los Angeles and all of my little students qualify for the free breakfast and lunch program. But that doesn't stifle their curiosity and wonder for the world around them. It is my goal to provide these little people with a wonderful start to their educational journey. Like Dr. Suess says..."A person's a person, no matter how small...."

My Project

Our elementary school has the pleasure and opportunity of opening the first Bilingual Preschool class in our area this year. I jumped at the chance to be the Pre-K Bilingual teacher.

What better way to introduce little preschool minds to their first Spanish sounds with fun sound boxes.

They will be able to actually hold the toys representing the sounds in hand, which is a great way to engage and capture their short attention spans. Using realia (being able to hold tangible things) as a learning tool maximizes their understanding and connection to what they are learning.
