My Project

The specific items will prepare my students to perform their best in my wood shop class by giving them the materials they need to level up their projects. Some of these items they have successfully used and they need to be replenished, such as the sand paper, gloves, dust masks, etc. While other items such as the nail holders we have found to be very useful to support our students' practice of occupational therapy skills and the chance to work more independently from start to finish of a project.

I teach Woodworking to students with disabilities, and what makes it special is how they light up and focus when given new tools and tasks.

These are skills that most of my students have not tapped into up until now, but the skills learned in my class will support working toward all of their IEP goals in some way. Whether it's practice in occupational therapy, or task stamina/attention to detail, my students benefit from everything we do inside and outside of the classroom.
