My Students

Our school houses over twelve hundred students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We are an underfunded, Title I school, in an inner city, where many ethnicities come together to learn and explore while speaking over forty languages! The students in my second grade class are a diverse bunch! The majority of them speak English as a second language, while others receive learning support for different needs.

Success is dependent on effort, Sophocles.

I want to encourage my students to take control of their learning by enticing them to complete their daily interventions that will help enhance their literacy and math skills. Providing rewards and incentives to students really boosts their excitement to work hard and achieve their goals! The students are thrilled and very appreciative when they receive that special treat in the mail! I only met a handful of my students in person, but I assure you, these little learners have stepped up their game during this time of at-home learning!

My Project

I would love to reward my students for working so hard during this time of "Virtual Learning." My students need incentives and rewards for completing their weekly goals in LEXIA and iREADY. These are our online interventions that help students practice the skills needed to succeed.

In these unprecedented times, I have tried to be the sunshine in my students' lives!

I have sent treats, books, and supplies through the mail. Postage is getting expensive! I am looking to provide the BEST incentive to achieve their goals on their online interventions.

These rewards will be a great motivator for my students and is a way for them to practice accountability and responsibility. They have been so appreciative of the things I have given them already, and this gift card to buy whatever they want from Amazon is the ULTIMATE REWARD!
