Let's Remove Barriers to High Quality Reading Instruction
Help me give my students the gift of reading and writing from anywhere! As a special educator, trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach, I would love to continue teaching those who are unable to attend school daily.
As a special education teacher, it is my goal and passion to help students learn to read & write. Reading and writing take our children places beyond their wildest imaginations and helps to give them a voice and method to express themselves. Without possessing phonological awareness skills, it makes this gift of imagination extremely difficult to attain.
The iPads and accessories I request will allow me to work with underprivileged students who experience barriers to attendance or require additional reading support beyond the school hours.
If students had iPads and writing tools, along with protective gear to safeguard the products, they will have access to technology that opens a world of possibilities for learning. Teaching and learning can resume despite disruptions to education which some students often experience. Helping students realize they are capable of learning, and watching the transformations that occur is a priceless gift that truly keeps giving.
