My Project
As an elementary special education teacher, I’ve found that many of my students learn best when they utilize items that help them focus. This includes access to flexible seating options and other items to help them regulate their senses. While a regular chair and overhead lighting are satisfactory for some students, others may need something very different! Students may need to spin, relax, or have access to "softer" lighting to keep themselves focused and engaged in learning tasks.
Every student is different, so what one student needs may not be what another student needs.
This is why I have selected several different items for my project - a rolling chair, a bean bag chair, floor pillows, and a floor lamp. Combined with some other flexible seating and sensory-regulating items that I currently have in my classroom, these items will accommodate many students' needs!
