My Project
In our kindergarten classroom, learning to read is one of the most exciting and important journeys we take together. My students are just beginning to discover the power of words, and decodable books are a key part of helping them to grow as confident, independent readers. These books give them the chance to apply the phonics skills they're learning and truly experience the joy of reading on their own. I want every child in my class to have the opportunity to hold a book that's just right for them- one they can sound out, understand, and feel proud of reading.
Having a rich collection of decodable texts in our room will not only strengthen their reading skills but also support their writing.
With access to the right materials, my students can grow into readers and writers who believe in themselves and the power of words!
