My Students

Every student has the right to read. I work with students in grades 9-12 with reading disabilities that affect their everyday lives from reading a menu to reading an academic book for chemistry class. These students are motivated to improve their reading skills as they are establishing the basis for their careers outside of high school and looking at college and trade schools. These students understand the importance of reading and writing and doing it well.

My students are exploring a variety of fields in which they will become productive professionals in the future.

These fields include the medical field, academia, military, entrepreneurial adventures, marketing, engineering and more. It is vital that reading not be the impediment to their success.

Therefore, I am requesting the Reading Plus Adaptive Literacy Solution for grades 3-12, 12 seats for 52 weeks for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year. With this tool in the classroom, I believe the students will become more proficient in reading.

My Project

Reading Plus is a program that helps students improve their vocabulary, comprehension and fluency skills. These are the skills these students need to succeed in all academic area.

This program will become a great addition to

the currently implemented individualized reading instruction. The combination of the currently implemented instruction with yet another specifically focused layer of instruction using resources that can easily transfer from home to school will certainly add another layer of assurance that students will have their reading deficits addressed and hopefully amended. Students will be able to work at home and at school with this program.
