My students are such an amazing group of "little learners". They are curious and adventurous as they explore the wonderful world of Second Grade. Their smiles and laughter make me the luckiest teacher. My students come from all cultures, areas, and various incomes an opportunity to learn and thrive within the district. My energetic second grade students enter the classroom ready to learn, discover, and explore.
Most of our students come from low-income areas.
Our students face many challenges both in and out of the classroom, but despite the many challenges they face, they walk into our classroom every day full of life and ready to learn.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student meets their full potential.

Help me give my students engaging books to add to our classroom library.
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
In our room, we treat our books like "friends." We care for them. We treat them with respect. We cherish and enjoy them for the new ideas and adventures they give us
These books will enrich our class library and give my students the opportunity to read new and engaging books.
