Our school, which is bursting at the seams, has a large population of English language learners. About one-third of our students are in the process of building English proficiency; we are home to students from around the world. Some of our students come to us without prior formal schooling. Others have a strong academic background in one (or two!) languages and are focused on building English vocabulary and language.
Students will be able to select books from this animal-related collection during independent reading time and together as we learn about wolves, tigers, and snakes.
These are appealing nonfiction class sets of books that will help build vocabulary, speaking, reading, and writing skills. My students will enjoy having their own copies of books to take home and share with their families.
