This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
There's nothing quite like a brand new book. The crackling sound of the spine as you flip through the pages for the first time. The smell of each printed page. The rough texture of those pages because yours are the first hands to touch them. And, of course, there's nothing like losing yourself in a well-told story.
Stella Diaz Has Something to Say will be the perfect book to read with my third grade students!
It's one of the books in our school's new English Language Arts curriculum, and I know that they'll fall in love with the protagonist! I can't wait to study the book with them, drawing connections to concepts such as immigration, citizenship, civics, and relationships. We'll focus on writing narratives and even create a book trailer, too.
