Bright colored murals, beautiful garb, fresh fruits , and vegetables at the corner market, and the smell of delicious Indian food coming from the nearby kitchen; this is the environment my students live in.
We have a beautiful neighborhood that embodies the Indian culture.
Unfortunately, my school is in a low-income neighborhood. Many of my students, a diverse mix of cultures too, attend a school that strives to give these eager students who are ready to learn, an excellent education. Many of them are first-generation Americans and are excited to begin school.
Implementing STEM bins and activities into my classroom is something I continue to work on. STEM has become a staple/ routine in many classrooms. Along with stem bins, my kiddos would benefit from a STEM library. These books would make a great addition to our stem center.
Stem literature is an awesome way to have kids read about how to build and making something, learning about structures or reading about a character's experience with problem-solving.
When my kiddos aren’t working with a stem bin they could be reading and learning. These bins would help make these books easily available and organized in our stem center! What a great way to get kiddos excited to build and create!
