Help me give my students the gift of Latin literacy books such as Explore Latin: Aves, Sodales, and Early Latin Reader will allow students to choose a high-interest text to read, whatever their level.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My classroom (or aula scholastica) is a haven for Latin language studies. We speak Latin, sing in Latin, read stories as a group, and explore the language independently. By filling my shelves with graded Latin readers, novellas, and accessible authentic texts, I strive to create an environment where students can use Latin to learn about themselves, the world around them, Roman culture, and the language itself.
Your contributions to this project will expand our growing library of age-appropriate, entertaining, and educational Latin language books.
The selections listed here range from simple picture books (perfect for incoming 6th graders) to a tiered reader that prepares older, intermediate students for book four of the Aeneid. With your support, students will gain vocabulary, insight, and confidence as independent readers of the Latin language.
