Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students consist of 26 eager to learn, energetic first graders. Living in a low socioeconomic neighborhood, my students face many challenges. Resources are scarce in their community and many of their hardworking parents have difficulty making ends meet.

All of my students are English learners and many of them have no books at home.

Almost 100% of the students at our school qualify for free lunch. Regardless of what is going on in their community, my students work hard to do their best.

My Project

My students need five Comfy Pillows and two Backpatters Seats, comfortable seats for our classroom library. These seats and pillows are perfect for them! My students enjoy going to our classroom library. They are eager to get their hands on the different books and listen attentively when I read to them.

Even though they are still learning to read, the sparkle in their eyes when I tell them they can go to our classroom library is priceless.

Having these seats and pillows in our library will make their reading experience even better. These pillows and seats will help them be comfortable while they read. They love to lay down on our small mat, but I know that these seats will make their experience an even better one.
