My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will enable me to start a "Read Aloud Book Club". Our 6th graders will join the club and read to our Kindergarteners, our 1st graders, and our 2nd graders. Our 6th graders will also be reading at our community on reading night. We will be holding a community service outreach night at our school called Reading Night. The Neighborhood community is invited for a fun night of reading at our school. Our 6th graders will participate in this community service event by reading and also helping the 2nd graders read to the people who are attending the community event.
"Today a reader, tomorrow a leader".
LET'S Read! By implementing the read-along book club, my students will begin to see themselves as true readers and leaders. Our 6th graders will learn to become mentors for younger readers. We will use these materials to aid us in the process of becoming lifelong readers and grow to love reading for a lifetime of literacy. The books that we have asked for will be read by the 6th grader to our 1st and 2nd graders, and also be used at our community event.
