Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a kindergarten teacher at a Title I school in a low-income, high-poverty school district where 99% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. These students overcome adversity every day when they simply walk through the classroom door. My students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom, yet they are always excited to come to school each morning and are willing and ready to learn. I love taking any opportunity to give my students what will help them prepare and prepare for the future.

With the requested sound tubs and writing prompt box, my students will reinforce concepts and skills taught and help them with their reading and writing skills.

The tools will target letter sounds that will help them in language arts. Students will become familiar with the sounds of each letter, blends and digraphs. They will also learn how to use strategies to read and write words.

These activities will ensure that my students will be readers and amazing writers in the future, for themselves and the good of their community.
