This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As the band program is doubling in size from its first year to its second, we currently do not have enough stands for the current classes. We are projected to almost double in size between this year and next and we are trying to provide equipment for the demand of the program. We also have many instrument cases that have fallen apart and are holding instruments that are up to 20 to 30 years old. While new instruments for the entire program is not feasible, we are trying to at least better protect what we do have to make them last.

The demand for band here at HMS has been exciting to watch grow, and we are busting out of the seams of what the program has to provide students.

This is a great problem to have and we are working to fundraise as much as possible to provide an incredible and fun music education through their middle school time, and hopefully into high school as well!
