Our school district is located in a rural community outside Pittsburgh, PA. There is one secondary building housing approximately 1100 students in grades 7-12. Teachers, administrators, and parents work together to promote our children's education. Students are well-behaved, respectful, and love all sports, outdoor, and extra curricular activities.
Our district's goal is to Move, Engage, and Assess Every Child Every Day.
We are a proud school district, with traditional values. In addition to strong academic programs, our high school curriculum provides students with experiences in the fields of art, music, theater, and physical education. I enjoy teaching Algebra 1 and Calculus. Most of my students want to learn and be successful and I am proud of their accomplishments. It is important for me to grow with them and learn new things everyday.
My high school math students and I need a new projector to broadcast lessons and student work from my Surface Pro tablet/laptop to the front of the class. The old ceiling projector needs replaced with an updated projector to continue using mobile technology. Mobile instruction in the classroom enables the teacher to walk around the classroom during the lesson. The tablet is handed to a student at his/her seat for participation in the math activity. Other students go to the board in the front of the classroom to interact with the math problems. The teacher is able to help any student who may be experiencing difficulties with the math lesson at hand.
The feature of projection on a writing surface enables students to interact with others in a cooperative group setting.
My students are encouraged to work in teams to solve real world application problems. Being a team player will help them excel with future academic endeavors and career choices. With this goal, an updated projector is needed to continue to use my Surface Pro effectively with students in my classroom.
