My Students

A lot of my students live a sheltered life compared to other children their age.

Many of them live in broken homes and only have one parent to support them. Some of these students have never been outside of their county and do not understand some of the most important real world concepts.

My Project

Bullying takes place in all forms and fashions in the 5th grade. Students this age do not understand the effects of bullying. "Wonder" shows struggles that a child their age has to face and throughout time helps students realize how important it is to accept people that may be different.

Helping children develop an open mind and to think critically will aid in their role as 21st century lifelong learners.

Children from poverty ridden areas of the country have little exposure to current literature.
