Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Despite the often-unfair and misguided stereotypes of students from the inner-city, my 7th and 8th-grade students continue to excel and perform beyond the expectations much of society has placed on them. Students who come from the inner-city communities have more to prove and work hard to break the stigma of the school and community in which they live. This tenacity makes them special and incomparable to students from other communities. They focus on bettering themselves and finding ways to make their family, school, and community proud.
My Project
It's time to welcome our students back to the classroom. When we return to our classrooms (fingers crossed) in August 2020, these requested items will keep the classrooms clean and sanitary. Students deserve to learn in a healthy and nurturing environment and I will use the products to clean desks, teach students about proper hygiene, and get them read to learn. I have always valued a clean classroom environment but have struggled with obtaining a steady stock of cleaning supplies. This items in this project should allow me to maintain cleanliness through the school year. In addition to keeping the classroom as clean as possible, I am also requesting a few basic school supplies to support student learning; these items include copy paper and toner to provide hard copies of assignments to students, glue sticks for pasting assignments into their notebook, and dry-erase markers for providing detailed instruction on the whiteboard.
