My Students

My fabulous third grade class is made up of 20 diverse students from a variety of backgrounds. We live in a rural farming community. Each student is eager to learn and grow both socially and academically.

My students are curious and creative.

Due to COVID-19, my students will attend school in person two days a week. The remaining three days, they will participate virtually. This year will require me to get creative while helping my students adapt to a new normal. Despite all of the changes, they will not only meet their educational goals, they will exceed them.

My Project

My students enjoy every second they get to spend outside at recess. However, it's often difficult for 8 year olds to remain 6 feet apart during outside play. As a result of my project, each student will have their own personal drawstring bag. Inside their bag, they will have supplies that will allow them to be active and interact with their classmates while maintaining the guideline of being 6 feet apart.

Student will enjoy their personal jump rope, sidewalk chalk, spinner toy and ball scoop.

Although academics are important, recess is just as important. It is during recess that children learn to socialize, make friends and even learn to resolve conflicts on their own. These supplies will allow my terrific third graders to interact with their peers while maintaining social distancing.

This year will certainly be challenging for everyone. However, with a little creativity, it will be a fantastic year!
