My students need creative games such as Pictionary and Go Fish for Modern Artists to enhance their knowledge of visual literacy, history and visual art skills.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Looney's classroom raised $236
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students sometimes finish their work early and I would like them to use their time creatively in my class. These games would keep them entertained while learning about different aspects of art. We currently do not have any art based board games in my classroom.
My students attend an urban, inner city school in Connecticut.
The majority qualify for free or reduced price lunch. In order for my students to have a well-rounded education, the arts are an integral part. By practicing visual arts, it has been shown that students can improve concentration and focus in other academic areas. Students who often struggle with other aspects of school find a refuge in making and creating art.
My Project
I have requested a variety of games that can be used with students as young as second or third grade, up until middle school. I feel that students will be able to connect in a less structured way to what I am teaching them in art class. They will be able to interact with their peers and improved their social skills by playing games in small groups.
Students rarely get a chance, outside of lunch and recess, to enjoy playing board games while learning at the same time.
With the addition of these art based games, to my classroom, students will look even more forward to coming to art!
