Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school does not have a blacktop, which means that during the winter months, students spend most recess time indoors. I am requesting indoor recess games to provide my students with opportunities to be active, creative, and social while inside. These games will help them release their energy in a positive way, encourage teamwork, and spark imaginative play even when the weather keeps us indoors.

These games will make a meaningful difference in my students’ learning by fostering important social-emotional skills such as cooperation, communication, and problem-solving.

When students engage in group activities, they practice sharing, listening, and working together toward common goals, skills that directly support their classroom success and personal growth. Giving them structured, fun activities during recess also helps improve focus and behavior during academic time.

My students are special because they are resilient, full of curiosity, and eager to learn despite challenges. Many come from diverse backgrounds and thrive when given creative outlets to express themselves and connect with peers. These indoor games will provide a safe, welcoming space where every child can feel included and valued.
