My Students
My students are African American, Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern, Caucasian..the wonderful melting pot of my Kindergarten class. My students are energetic, funny, inquisitive, and strong. They are so excited!
Our school includes low-income students, with 100% of them receiving free lunch.
They come from homes with wonderful parental involvement, but minimal resources.
My students are very eager to learn new things. I want to be able to afford them different opportunities to learn many new things by using different materials and different avenues.
My Project
My students need these playground materials! Unfortunately, our playground is unaccessible due to major wear and tear. We are unable to replace the big pieces on our playground such as our horse spring riders or our jungle gym. These playground materials will give my students an opportunity to have a real recess that includes hula hoops, kick balls, jump ropes, balance toys, skip it, and even timers to time their races in the grass. This project will also provide storage for these toys so that they are easily accessible during our recess time.
