My students are a lively bunch of high schoolers. Their favorite classroom activities are hands-on, review games, and anything that involves technology. They like to have fun while learning; and I like to find fun, engaging activities for them. They are attending an “A” rated school with a high poverty rate (approximately 60%). They are truly amazing students who defy odds every day, and they should be rewarded with a curriculum that incorporates activities that they truly enjoy and promotes engagement.
Response buzzers just make learning more fun (and fair) for students. By incorporating a response buzzer system in our classroom, the students will be able to play more review games. Recently we played Jeopardy to review for a test. The students absolutely loved it! Not to mention student engagement and test scores improved exponentially! One problem we had was determining who “buzzed” in first. We tried raising hands, playing a phone sound and ringing a bell, but ultimately that left sight and sound to determine who rang in first, causing some dissonance. The Eggspert will eliminate any discrepancies, making it more fair.
