My students need baseball mits, mesh bags to hold the mits in, baseballs, markers to label the equipment, and a couple sets of Hi-Li games (scoops and balls).

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The almost 1000 students at our school live in a low income neighborhood with limited access to basic school supplies. We are a Title I school with almost all of the students qualifying for free breakfast and free lunch each day.
Although my students have limited access to resources, they are enthusiastic to come to school each day to learn many new standards.
I look forward to giving my students many of the much needed supplies this year by asking the generous donors of DonorsChoose to provide these supplies.
My Project
Every year, the staff and the students play a game of baseball against one another the last week of school. Since we often times have to bring our own supplies from home, my students thought it would be great if we could have a few baseball mitts and baseballs for the students to use to play the game.
To practice throughout the year, my students want to use the baseball equipment and scoops and balls during the required daily P.E.
time. All of these supplies will help improve the skills students need to play not only baseball (such as hand-eye coordination), but other games as well. It is only with generous donations that our school is able to purchase physical fitness equipment.
