Help me give my students more to complete painted projects! One of the most requested media I get from students is to add paint. This list would afford my students better access to a variety of colorful paints!

My Project

Throughout my first year teaching art l I have learned a great deal about what students are passionate about and what areas they need support in. I have found that students love the freedom to add their own unique to touch to projects. This gives them the opportunity to express their own vision, is highly stress-relieving, and promotes self-understanding in a way no other class can.

While we cover various forms of painting throughout each semester, students often need paint for other projects such as sculpting, crafting, and design.

A common problem for us is that we lack enough paint throughout the year and quality tools for storing paint brushes for drying, leading to them being damaged and poorly preserved. While my aim is for every student to have the access to the media they need to better express themselves, there are times where I must limit this to conserve supplies. It is always unfortunate when this is the case. Preferably, each student would have ample supplies to complete their work as they envision.

The projects our students work hard on are featured in our school art show as well as the district art show and annual Bixby Green Corn Festival. All funds go directly to the students to support the creation, presentation, and preservation of their artwork. Their work gives life to our hallways, gives students the opportunity to explore their inner voices, and are memories they can look back on in years to come!

With many projects that will require a host of colors, our students would be immensely grateful to have access to a healthy supply of various paints, brushes as well as better methods for storage. This would ensure less limitations for each student and a more enriching learning experience. Please consider contributing today!
