Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 4th-grade students are from East Harlem in New York City. They come from diverse backgrounds and learning levels. Some are English language learners, and others have Individual Education Plans. Many of the students also qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.

I love my students' passion for learning, excitement to explore, and their ability to have a positive outlook as they struggle and learn to overcome the impact Covid19 has had on their families and community.

These students amaze and inspire me daily. They deserve equality and opportunity to continue to grow and achieve their dreams.

My Project

These tennis balls will be used at the end of the legs of desks so that the students can easily move their desks to form small working groups while still maintaining three feet of distance.

The students learn best when they can work with each other through communication and collaboration.

These tennis balls will allow them to move their desks to face each other but still stay three feet apart. The tennis balls make moving the desks easy, quick and quiet for the students. They can move them independently and enjoy getting the chance to change seating and work with their peers.
