This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love to be physically active. Unfortunately, physical education class is sometimes the only physical activity kids get. I want to make sure we have adequate equipment to make sure the love of physical activity continues for a lifetime and not just when they leave physical education class. If we have the equipment and tools to show these kids being physically active is fun, it will make for a better lifelong, physically active people. I know many students don’t have the ability to do extracurricular sports, so for me it’s important they learn as much as they can in my classroom.
My Project
My students don’t have the ability to play many sports outside of school. Much of their physical activity comes in my class. I want to make physical activity as much fun as I possibly can and get my students the love physical activity as much as I do. Giving students ample equipment to playlist, keeps learning fun and keeps the moving throughout the period. The more equipment we have for the students the less downtime the students have which keeps the moving and staying physically active throughout their time with me. I want to instill a love of not only sports but a love for moving that a lot of kids seemed to have lost.
