Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students ask many questions during science. "How and where does a hurricane begins?" I want to be able to teach my students about things that are happening around the world globally.

I teach kindergarten in a Title One low income school.

I have students with special needs including autism. We have approximately 600 students of which 91% are eligible for free and reduced prices lunches. Many of my students come to school with limited language skills and are developmentally delayed in all areas. Our school has a large population of ESL students who speak no English and need lots of enriched language activities. I need materials to successfully enhance learning skills in my classroom for all learners.

My Project

Adding the magazine "Time for Kids" will provide my students with real world topics. The magazine will allow for students to use nonfiction text on a weekly basis. This magazine will build students reading and writing skills in class. Having the ability to integrate lessons across the curriculum will increase students' knowledge about events happening around the world. Students will be engaged with the eye catching photos in the magazine.

Let's make kindergarten students aware of things happening around the world.

This magazine will give students a creative way of learning about monthly events globally. Your donations will help prepare them for the real world.
