My Students
The first graders that spend their days with me in our classroom are amazing examples of our school's mission.
Spending my days with 6 and 7-year-olds that care for each other, accept each other and love to learn makes the job of being their teacher incredibly rewarding.
They are kids that are surrounded by struggles but come to school ready to learn and share. These students deserve a classroom that fits each of their needs for each day they arrive.
My Project
First grade is the time in many student's lives that reading begins to 'click'! Some students have gained the skills to read and enjoy what they read while others are still looking for strategies that work for them. Wherever my students are, I want to be able to support them in a way that works for them.
These materials will bring life to our reading block!
Providing kids with new and creative ways to become better readers is an incredibly important job, and I'm honored to be able to do that. Beginning readers will be able to use our new Leapfrog pens and books to gain an understanding of words and sentences. All students will be able to utilize our new letter stamps and Wikki Sticks to spell high-frequency words that can be tricky to remember.
