Let's Make My Classroom Smarter With A Smart TV!

Help me give my students a big-screen smart TV and mounting cart for our classroom. Students will be able to see and hear all of our material and interact with the Smart TV.

My Project

In my 23 years of teaching, I have yet to find a way to clearly project materials and have speakers loud enough for students to be able to hear without an excessive amount of cords around the room and a projector stand in the middle of the classroom. As the senior IB Global Politics and sophomore US History teacher at my school, in addition to projecting notes and classroom activities, we watch a lot of news clips, documentaries, and youtube channels. This resource will be utilized on a daily basis.

Having this Smart TV affords me the best way to present my material in a clearer, more modern fashion!

Also, the amount of cords currently running across the floor in my room is excessive. This will change that and create an environment where I have 1 cord to plug in the TV- that is all. This Smart TV has a better, clearer picture for my students to view information, and has quality speakers built in so I do not need that extra speaker set up. Bluetooth technology will connect my laptop to the TV and allow me to project directly from my laptop- CORDLESS! Also, students can connect their Chromebooks to the TV for presentations saving us lots of time from logging kids out, logging them back in, etc like we currently have to do.

This TV also provides me easy access to all of the news, documentary, and film apps that I currently use in my classroom. I also will be able to set up my Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, news stations app, etc directly on the TV so we can view enrichment video text easily. I have visited several classrooms in our building and have concluded this is the best option for projecting.
