This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Ninety percent of our amazing students live below or near the poverty line. About 60% of our students are learning English in school. Sometimes our school struggles to get the resources we need to teach and care for our incredible students. This makes the job of a school even more important.
Many students we teach experience poverty, but that's just where they are starting.
Our students love to create art and read. They write computer code and even perform Shakespeare. They have big dreams, let's help them reach for those dreams!
My Project
This year, kids are so enthusiastic about math! They are loving adding, subtracting, and counting. But... practicing that on worksheets can get a little boring.
Let's give kids the tools, toys, and games to SPARK A LOVE OF MATH that will last a lifetime!
Your gift will allow kids to build and stack numbers. They will be able to add numbers with their hands, and balance equations using a real scale. This is helping kids get excited about math and also helps them understand mathematical concepts like length and place value. Plus, a gift card for online math lessons and resources. Thanks for spreading the joy of mathematics!
