My Students

Do you remember being drilled with math facts? For most it is not a pleasant memory, and I know that for myself I still start to get nervous when a multiplication fact is thrown out. I want my student to enjoy their facts and know them for the rest of their lives!

My students are 4th grade kids in an inclusive classroom in a public school.

Our district is a K-8 school district with a long standing history in the community. In our district GATE begins in 4th grade, so all of my students are not GATE learners. This can cause some friction with the students in that they think that GATE kids do more cool activities. I would like to incorporate some of these activities into my own classroom so that my students do not feel subpar.

My Project

My students need 25 Math Wheel Flash Cards for a new way to do math facts! I want Math to be fun and keep their attention. I am looking to enhance the idea of multiplication and division facts and help students see the continuity of the two. Many times timed test can be boring and nerve wracking, but I would like to give my students the tools to master the concepts and ace the test! The money donated will be used to purchase math fact wheels that show the students how multiplication and division correlate as well as allow them to test themselves as well as others on their math facts.

This is my second year teaching, but my first year in 4th grade.

This last year I was a Kindergarten teacher, and I would covet your donations since my classroom will not have as many manipulatives in it.
