My Students

My students are from a rural, southern Louisiana area. They are eager to learn new things and know the importance of a great education. Students range in ages from 11-14 years old, which is the most important age for building a lifelong foundation for the love of learning.

These students are aware of the ever-growing need for a college degree.

Cooperative learning groups help my students to retain information longer. The benefits of collaborating with peers are endless. The skills acquired through socializing are beneficial to everyone.

My Project

Students will use pencils, tissue, and extra reeds for making music daily. The tuners will especially be helpful for keeping the whole band sounding amazing.

Music helps students to excel in academics.

Studies have shown that music helps students to perform better in math and to stay in school longer.

Being a part of the band helps our​ middle school students bring back enjoyment in their education.

Also, being a part of the band helps students to feel like they are a part of the community. Your assistance with this project will help to provide a lifetime of love for music.
