As a speech-language pathologist working in a special education elementary school, I spend majority of my day helping our students to communicate using a variety of communicative functions, pragmatic skills, listening comprehension, syntax skills, sensory-based feeding, increasing expressive vocabulary, and finding a voice using alternative augmentative communication systems.
As a school based speech-language pathologist, it is my role to provide therapy to my students who need help with receptive, expressive, pragmatic, and feeding development.
My special-needs students all have a wide range of strengths and deficits. In order to meet their needs, it is important for me to have a multitude of resources that I can access in order to help them meet their goals. These items will help me create fun and effective speech-language therapy sessions for my students. For example, the "Wh" questions Super duper cards, category cards, and inferencing cars will improve receptive and expressive language skills. The bubble machine is specific interests of my students. The sensory chewy tubes will help improve oral motor skills. The Jumbo Mighty Mouth will serve as a visual aid to work on articulation skills.
Most importantly, your support will allow me to implement lessons and activities that my students need in order to develop their speech and language and feeding skills.
