My students need a way to quietly and effectively line up in an organized way. These numbered SitSpots will help them know where to line up in the classroom when they have completed their center activities.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our room is a very cozy, creative, and welcoming classroom.
It is filled with 22 fun, spunky, and active first graders.
I have 12 girls and 10 boys all living in the Salinas area and most of whom come from a bilingual household. Some students are migrant students who go back and forth between cities and schools. Our school is one of four elementary schools part of the Santa Rita Union School District. Our district is low socioeconomically and our students receive a free breakfast and lunch while on campus.
My students have a heart of gold and deserve the best education we can give them.
My Project
I am asking for numbered SitSpots to help my students line up in a calm organized manner. The SitSpots will give each student a place in line to stand on. This will change the chaotic way we line up now. My students need their own space in line. They will love finding their number on a colored dot on the carpet. My students are able to thrive when our classroom is a calm organized place. The line up spots will allow transitions to be just that. We will save time everyday by being able to line up quickly. I can't wait to use that time more effectively!
The star SitSpots will give the students their own space during calendar/carpet time.
This will allow them to stay focused on what we are learning, which will encourage them to participate.
