This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Kindergarten students learn best when they are moving and playing. I try to incorporate high engagement with lots of kinesthetic activity to keep them motivated to learn. This means that my students need lots of choice with manipulative materials that complement our science and math activities.
A light table and multiple sensory materials that can be used to explore concepts in math and science will increase my students' academic achievement by helping them make important developmental connections.
For example, with a light table, my students will be able to examine insects preserved in Resin, explore different colors of stones/pebbles while creating their own animals/insects shapes, or even practice making different patterns using the transparent bear counters.
