Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Wow this is fun teacher!", is what one student told me while he was using language arts games. This is why I am requesting skills games to use in the classroom. I'm also requesting a printer so students can print out their assignments and have a memory book at the end of the school year.

My second grade students love to learn and discover new things.

Most of my students are from minority and low socio-economic homes. The entire school is on a free lunch program. My students come to school eager to learn everyday. They love to use things that are hands on and fun.

My Project

Having a variety of games will help reinforce the language arts skills that are being taught in second grade. Children can learn and practice skills in fun ways. Incorporating language arts games is a great and different way to reteach these concepts and give them an opportunity to practice. These games can be used in small groups during independent work time or as a whole group activity. I am also requesting a printer so my students can print out their friendly letters and share their assignments they typed with their families. At the end of the school year,we also create a memory book where children type about their experience in second grade and draw pictures. With a printer, the children can actually add real pictures to their memory books. This would be a priceless gift to end the school year!

Please help my students incorporate fun language arts games with learning!

With these games, they will be learning while having fun. With a color printer in the classroom, my students will love to print and share their hard work with their friends and family. They will also be able to create a memory book that will be part of their lives forever.
