My Students

My students are very sweet and loving kids. They absolutely love having fun in my classroom. Each and every day, they come in and give me hugs. I love when they are excited to come to school to learn. Third grade can be a stressful year for students because of the state test, the FSA. So, when they want to come in and learn, learn, learn, it warms my heart. I have the best third graders around! I am lucky to be their teacher!

My Project

This project is extremely important for the success of some of my third grade students. I am an inclusion classroom and I have 7 students who have individual education plans. They all read below grade level.

These books by Margaret Hillert are packed full with the dolch sight words.

Sight words are the words that you can't sound out, you just need to learn. When my students are able to increase their sight words, it will ultimately help them with their reading fluency. They will be taking one of these books home for two nights and reading it. Then they will come into school and read the book to me or a partner for a third time. I know these books will increase my students ability to become better readers.
