My Project

I am seeking funding to create a dedicated “Letter Table” in my kindergarten classroom—a hands-on literacy station designed to strengthen students’ letter formation, handwriting skills, and fine motor development. The Letter Table will include a variety of sensory boards, tactile letter tracing materials, fine motor manipulatives, and multisensory writing tools that support young learners as they build foundational writing skills. This interactive space will provide engaging, developmentally appropriate opportunities for students to practice forming letters correctly while building confidence and independence.

Kindergarten students are at a critical stage in developing foundational literacy skills.

Proper letter formation and handwriting fluency are essential building blocks for reading and written expression. However, many young learners enter kindergarten with limited fine motor strength and little experience with structured letter formation practice. Traditional pencil-and-paper instruction alone does not meet the diverse sensory and developmental needs of all students.
