My Project

My students are curious kindergarten students! They love to get excited about learning. Scholastic News Magazines spark interest in a variety of topics that increase student learning and engagement in science, social studies, and reading. Plus, it can be modified to go right along with our core curriculum programs! To fully use the Scholastic News resources, we also need headphones so our little learners can hear the videos and learning games on the connected website.

This year, my students include children who are new to this country, who are learning English as a second language, and who need additional visual support to build background in the subjects we study.

This resource would benefit ALL students, but especially these students! We are also in need of fun lessons for science to close out the year and start the next year. STEM is so important, and I want to inspire a great love of science and the world around us. We will primarily use Scholastic News during our science and social studies time, but students will be able to take their weekly magazines home and share them with their families. Please help me inspire a love for nonfiction reading!
