Help me give my students the understanding of diversity and inclusion in our school community. This includes folders, diversity prompt cards, and other items.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Rappa's classroom raised $239

My Students
My students come from low income households where English is not their primary language. They are of different cultures and ethnicities. These are kindergarteners in a general education class which includes English language learners and students with special needs. They were in pre-school last year for only six months until COVID hit.
They will be learning school and classroom routines all over again after being home for an entire year.
They had a tough time learning remotely at such a young age. It has been a very tough year for everyone.
My Project
With 74% of my school being of Asian decent and English language learners, it is very important to teach diversity, ethnicity and inclusion at a very young age. My incoming kindergarteners were mostly remote during their pre-K year. These products, along with many You Tube read aloud books and lessons, will help foster lots of opportunities for discussions on how we are the same in the inside and how we are different from each other on the outside.
This project will give my students a better understanding about diversity, especially through art activities and visuals, and they will be able to keep their drawings/lessons in a plastic folder to help them with organizational skills.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
